Sleep is the most powerful recovery tool available to athletes — and the most underutilized. It affects reaction time, decision-making, emotional regulation, learning, and memory consolidation. Every mental skill you're trying to build gets undermined by poor sleep.

Research shows that 17–19 hours without sleep produces cognitive impairment equivalent to a blood alcohol level of 0.05%. Most college athletes are chronically sleep-deprived.
